Acquired Brain Injury and Neurological Conditions with Nursing Care.

Penybryn Care Home, Wrexham

Penybryn opened in May 2007 and is a centre of excellence caring for younger people with neurological problems caused by acquired brain injury and conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis and stroke.

Penybryn has two community units called Penybryn and Bryn Bella. We promote the individual’s independence through rehabilitation and support.

We provide day care, respite and longer term residential services that promote the individual’s independence through rehabilitation and support.

The spacious, modern and beautifully decorated accommodation includes superior rooms and suites. All rooms and suites have en-suite bathing facilities and some have patio doors to the gardens. The tranquil setting in landscaped gardens is surrounded by open countryside, yet is very close to Wrexham town centre with all its amenities.

Our friendly, highly qualified and experienced nurses, care practitioners, physiotherapists and resident artist provide a range of individually tailored therapies to promote and encourage as much independence as possible. There is a strong rehabilitation focus and the wide variety of therapies we have on site are key to this. A range of delicious home cooked meals are available to cater for all tastes. Penybryn residents can enjoy a healthy social life and a wide range of activities including music, multi-media entertainment, hobbies and pastimes whilst Internet access is available.

Engaging with the community is important and trips and outings are popular – visits to the shops, cinema, the local pub or even a football match are always on the agenda. Our philosophy is to help people live their lives as they wish, so our residents can always chill out and do their own thing. We have been delighted with the positive response to the opening of Penybryn, find out what Gwenda Thomas said more,,,
